![]() Little Hands Make Apple Rings You've probably been buying, or at least noticed, that apples are in season. Each grocery store has several different kinds of apples to choose from, and many you can buy by the half peck (those cute little bags with handles). My girls eat 2-5 apples a day together lately. They're apple lovin' girls. Because of that, as well as the current low price of them because they're in season, I've been trying to find ways to enjoy the seasonal treat. Last week, I made apple rings, and I think that has been the very favorite so far. I found several recipes on pinterest, and the one I ended up sticking with were from HERE. I cored the apples with the apple corer and then peeled and sliced them. Then followed the directions. You fry them for a couple of minutes on each side in oil and then bake them. It was really easy, especially considering that it was the very first time I've ever fried something. They came out amazing, and the cinnamon sugar glaze was great too. I will, however, cut way back on the sugar in the glaze next time. Apples are sweet enough this time of the year to add sugar on top. My girls loved the glaze, of course, but they walked around munching on the apples rings plain as well. It was just a fun fall treat that we'll definitely be making again soon before apple season passes. *Apple Rings*
